Workshop Coordinator & Instructor
Plant 4 Good is a plant and gift shop in Ardmore, PA. We blend retail plant and gift sales with workshops and community events, all rooted in a belief that plants heal, connect, and teach. We're planning an upcoming move and looking for someone to help our workshop program grow right along with us.
The Role
We're looking for an outgoing, organized, plant-curious person to own our workshop program from idea to execution. You'll dream up new workshop concepts, coordinate the calendar, set the room, welcome participants, and sometimes teach the class yourself. Other times, you'll be the one coordinating logistics for an outside instructor and making sure the experience runs smoothly for everyone in the room. You'll also pitch in on the shop floor when we need an extra set of hands.
You'll often be the first person someone engages with when they attend a workshop, so your energy sets the tone for their entire experience with us.
What You'll Do
• Plan and coordinate the workshop calendar, balancing our own programming with outside instructors
• Generate new workshop ideas and concepts, and help price them so they're profitable and accessible
• Teach select workshops yourself, sharing plant knowledge in a warm, approachable way
• Coordinate logistics for guest instructors: scheduling, communication, and day-of support
• Set up and break down the workshop space, including supplies and materials
• Communicate with participants before and after workshops (confirmations, reminders, follow-up)
• Greet and welcome workshop attendees, often as their first introduction to the shop
• Support day-to-day shop operations and staffing when workshops aren't in session
• Collaborate with the team on promoting workshops across social media, email, and in-store signage
What You Bring
• Some plant or horticulture knowledge; formal horticultural background is a plus
• An outgoing, cheery, welcoming personality, comfortable leading a room
• Self-motivation and creativity to generate new workshop ideas and see them through
• Strong organizational skills and follow-through on calendar and communication details
• Flexibility to work mostly evenings and weekends, with some daytime shop coverage as needed
• Teaching or public speaking experience is a plus
Schedule & Compensation
This is a part-time, hourly position at approximately 15–20 hours per week. Hours are concentrated in evenings and weekends around our workshop schedule, with occasional daytime hours for shop coverage and planning. Compensation is commensurate with experience, $20-22/hour.
How to Apply
Send us a note about yourself, your experience with plants and/or teaching, and why this role feels like a fit, along with a resume, to plant4good@gmail.com. We'd love to hear from you.
